We had to get a new TV and after reading magazines and specialist journals, we decided that the Panasonic TH42PZ70BA TV was for us. The overal quality of the set is absolutely fantastic: stunning in fact and we were very delighted with the picture - never seen anything as good!
Everything worked a treat but our pleasure with the set was to last just 28 days when the power protection circuit board would not let the set switch on. The User Manual does not help so I had to phone Panasonic to get information on likely cause. The set has been with the Repair Contractor for three weeks and I am told that parts may have to be obtained from an overseas location.
Let's hope it is the only problem we will have to endure.

Bought one of these at Christmas to replace my old Panasonic 32" CRT. WOW! The picture is amazing. Connectivity is very good - I have Sky+, Xbox 360, PS2, DVD writer and Home Cinema connected (yes a LOT of cables!!). Being a film fan, I watch a lot of TV, and am very impressed. I think SKY HD will be very soon.

This TV can be bought for under £690 including delivery if you shop around.... I did! Check the gadget show website (google it) It was one of their recommended products and there are some good links to cheap outlets!! Save yourself a few 100! Anyway, the picture quality is incredible with 1080 compatible sources and with a DVD upscaler they look incredible as well
This is a very large high res tv so dont expect much if you use the scart sockets, there is no going back once you have been using the HDMI inputs!
No faults on mine, had it for 3 months!
My only worry is the same I would have with any similar TV Image burn.... No sign as yet!

Confident of a good product - it being Panasonic, we were not let down - excellent picture quality, ease of tuning, simple connectivity (Panasonic HDD, Apple Mac etc) using HDMI; and beautiful piano black case. A heavy beast, but lived up to commercial review expectations.
Unfortunately the experience only lasted 29 days, and then it failed. Had to scour internet, as manual had little in the way of fault finding to discover that its electrical protection circuit was cutting in... disappointed - perhaps it was manufactured on a Friday afternoon?
