5 out of 5 stars ron's review   July 28, 2010
Ronald Schwartz (UK)
Dynamite TV, outstanding service from Amazon, the best problem solvers in the business, and great work from Sky.

Moving here from America two years ago into a grade 2 building and having only freeview was driving me crazy.

This Panasonic is the BEST TV I have ever owned!

Thanks

4 out of 5 stars This is how i like my HD.   July 21, 2010

I will keep this review short as others have covered everything superbly already. Basically this is an excellent tv. Compared to my previous tv which was a LCD the picture is much more natural - colours are lifelike and detail not overdone, just right. You definately get that "being there" feeling. Sound is an improvement on my last tv too, it has plenty of weight to it, although the standard sound setting is the best option in my opinion. The SD picture is poor though, maybe i could tweak a setting or two to improve this ? But this is the only negative with an otherwise superb tv. Recommended.

5 out of 5 stars Panasonic TX-P42G10B 42-INCH WIDESCREEN TV   June 7, 2010

I have recently upgraded my home cinema surround sound system after my old one become unworkable after 13 years and I was looking to get a good full 1080 HD tv to go with it. Having visited the local high street dealers and because of the pending football world cup lots of good deals could be found. Having looked long and hard I decided on this excellent product. Once you have this connected up to my sony bdv-370 home cinema system and sky hd coming through it the picture quality is just amazing and I would tell everybody who gets a full hd tv to spend the extra money of sky hd because whats the point of having a full hd tv and not using it for that main reason. I read a few reviews with regard to the noisy fans with this tv, but i can honestly say that since I have been using this set (2 weeks) I havent even noticed any noise whatsoever. Also be sure to get some decent gold plated HDMI cables and optical cable from amazon if your are thinking of connecting in a blu-ray system. high street stores can charge anything from £50-100 for these, on amazon i paid around £25 for 2 HDMI, 1 Optical and 2 x SCART cables for the lot. I got this just in time for the world cup and cannot wait to see amazing HD pictures through this excellent model.
The set-up menu was easy to use and only took 10 mins to upgrade to sky HD with 1 phone call to update my existing viewing sky+ card. Results were truely brillant.
I just wish I had made the switch sooner and the only problem I have now it getting my old CRT 32 inch tv to the tip in my car.

3 out of 5 stars Plasma Problems   May 23, 2010

If you are considering buying a Plasma TV, check with your local Radio Investigaion Service first. Plasma Sets are known for radiating RF (radio frequency)noise from the screen, which is picked up on your broadcast radio receivers. It is also a potential source of interference to aeronautical services. Also, if radiated noise gets onto your phone line, the noise can slow down your internet connection (information being sent down the line has problems due to noise on the line). Do a search for 'Plasma TV QRM' or 'Plasma TV Interference' on Youtube and see what the interference sounds like. Not nice!
