3 out of 5 stars Plasma Problems   May 23, 2010

If you are considering buying a Plasma TV, check with your local Radio Investigaion Service first (Ofcom in UK) Plasma Sets are known for radiating RF (radio frequency)noise from the screen, which is picked up on your broadcast radio receivers. It is also a potential source of interference to aeronautical services. Also, if radiated noise gets onto your phone line, the noise can slow down your internet connection (information being sent down the line has problems due to noise on the line). Do a search for 'Plasma TV QRM' or 'Plasma TV Interference' on Youtube and see what the interference sounds like. Not nice!

3 out of 5 stars Excellent Picture, shame about the durability   April 23, 2010

Having owned a Panasonic Viera 37" 720p Plama TV for nearly 4 years, when it came to upgrade I only really considered Panasonic. The picture quality so far has been great, however the durability of the finish is poor. Having two younng children scratches are to be expected, but the original 37" was nearly perfect after 4 years. This item has not been so withstanding, and already the bezel is badly scatched, and the TOUGH Impact Resistant
out screen has some very deep scratches. So bad that i will have to get the outer screen replaced.

Also noticed when watching Blue Ray, from my Panasonic DMP-BD35, the screen seems to outer screen seems to pulse slightly from black to dark grey.

5 out of 5 stars Nothing but the best from Panasonic, yet again   April 21, 2010

I was looking to replace my whole TV/DVD/audio system and have always been a Panasonic fan, but I was prepared to go with other models this time and did a lot of research. I went for this TV in the end as it was around about the size I was looking for (40"+) and had the features (full HD), plus a make-match with the other kit. It's a great set, fantastic picture and decent audio, although I also bought a Panasonic Blu-Ray 5.1 surround system (reviewed separately) so I don't use the built-in speakers much. I'm most impressed with picture quality in HD, which is simply outstanding on this set. It has 3 x HDMI sockets, which is great as I can watch Sky HD, my Blu-Ray player and my Xbox all in full HD. It also has numerous amounts of other connecting points, including an SD card slot. As ever with Panasonic, Viera link makes it very easy to setup with other devices and the on-screen menus are really easy to use. Freeview is built-in, as you would expect, but I was slightly disappointed that the TV didn't come with a normal coax ariel (cheapskates...). I would only really give this TV one minus point - it's a plasma so it's still quite bulky and heavy for a flat-screen, but I guess Panasonic obviously believe that LCD isn't up to the task on this size and feature set yet so they're sticking with plasma. I bought this set from an Amazon Marketplace seller, it was almost half the price of what a local Panasonic dealer wanted to charge me for this and full marks to them for having them available, as this is now an end-of-line model. Oh, and black gloss looks fantastic but doesn't half gather dust!

Bang for your buck with this purcahse, you aren't going to get a better spec TV for the money. Outstanding TV outstanding picture even the standard definition picture is great. Sound is adequate as well. Being able to put the SD card from my digital camera into the TV is also a plus point for viewing kodack moments back on the big screen. Blu-ray looks fantastic, PS3 looks good on it as well. Had it for 2 months now can't find anything wrong with it.
