5 out of 5 stars Astounding image quality on a brilliant all round tv   February 15, 2010
A. Blackhall (UK)
The image quality on the TV set definitely made it worth the premium in price over other 42" sets out there. The neoPDP panel makes it a lot brighter than other plasmas, making it on par with some of it's lcd counterparts whilst still having superior viewing angles and contrast ratio. The presets of cinema and game are really useful, although the dynamic contrast is too garish to actually be used. I have it hooked up to my home cinema, pc and xbox 360 and everything looks crisp and the colours are vibrant with no motion blur with games like crysis and fifa testing the 600Hz out. The speakers on the tv are much better than most tv sets and whilst I use a 5.1 setup now, for the first few weeks had the built in's working and they are excellent for casual viewing.
Only criticism I have of the TV is only 3 HDMI inputs but these are more than enough for most users, and it's only with my planned aquisition of a PS3 that it'll be a problem.

Outstanding picture quality in HD/ Bluray, although sound could be better if you use a home cinema system this is no longer an issue. Looked at lcd and led finally settling on this one and, so far, no regrets.

5 out of 5 stars Panasonic Perfect   February 11, 2010

A superb television, fantastic colours & deep blacks.Freeview is far better picture than any other TV I've seen, Freesat untested but included. Brilliant for sport and movies.Fabulous blu-ray images.
Logical & easy set up, remote a joy to use. My second Panasonic plasma and incredible value from the Amazon store.
Cannot fault it at this price or anything twice the Amazon price. 10 out of 10.

4 out of 5 stars Panasonic wins again   February 1, 2010

Once again, I am not disappointed by a Panasonic product. Only comment to make is that the "fan"(?) is a bit loud when you have sound on low volume. Otherwise, no problems.

4 out of 5 stars Great picture   January 31, 2010

As other reviewers have noted the picture quality is superb, so I'll just touch on the minor cons of this set.

1- Flickering. A lot of people notice flickering/shimmering with Panasonic Plasmas. It's noticeable mainly when there is a solid colour being showed. (For example in the Gray in the guide). Only a small percentage of people notice (I do but am used to it). It is worth seeing the TV in the flesh to see if it affects you.

2- Fans. The back of the unit has a couple of fans, they don't appear to be thermostatically controlled so are constantly on. They are however very quiet, audible when the volume is down but in general TV viewing can't be heard.

3- The Freeview EPG uses GuidePlus. This means a 1/4th of the guide is taken up by static adverts. To be fair a lot of TVs use this system now - but still annoying when you've spent hard earned cash on a TV for it to be forced upon you.

4- The Freeview/Freesat EPGs aren't merged, it would be great to be able to have the Freeview & Freesat channels all in one list, instead of having to change mode. (I suspect this is a limitation that Freesat impose).

Other than that, it really is a great TV!
