4 out of 5 stars LG Plasma   July 12, 2010
Mr. Ravi Doshi (london)
I am very pleased with the visual display and presentation of this TV, its looks very sleek and sexy, and with 1 sheet of glass, rather than LG PQ 2000, I am pleased I got this instead.

The picture is good quality with lots of little gismos there. The sounds levels start high (at 1) and goes to 100, but I never really have it more than 10-12.

The DIVX USB port is beatiful, my whole life has changed as we can now watch DIVX movies directly on the TV with a USB stick. So I transfer from my PC to the USB stick and watch away. Sometimes the sounds and picture distort ie the sounds comes first and the picture 1 second later, you can see the mouth move funny like its miming. Not quite sure why this happens.

I bot in the xmas sale and paid very good price, so I def recommend 42 plasma with LG.

5 out of 5 stars Great set!   June 6, 2010
Me@VIP (UK)
I bought this TV about 6 months ago after reading dozens of reviews and comparisons on the LCD vs Plasma debate and decided to go for this one and I am so glad that I did. There was a lot of talk at the time about plasmas being phased out and that the manufacturers were not going to be making them any more, well so much for that load of rubbish cos all I see at the moment are more and more plasmas coming out! I personally feel that the picture on a plasma has more natural colour as the LCDs tend to overdo it with the colours and they all look too bright to me. The sound on this set is surprisingly much better than I had expected after reading various reviews prior to buying it, obviously it is not going to compare with a surround sound system but I often use just the sets sound without switching on my cinema sound if I am only watching one or two programmes and the volume is more than adequate and seldom do I have it more than half volume.

Again after reading certain claims that the picture quality improves the more you use it initially, I can confirm that this definitely is the case and is noticable when looking through the sky programme guide which when I first bought the set seemed a little blurred and the colours were not that sharp, now after 6 months use it looks pin sharp. This is apparently due to the gasses in the panel settling down after movement, some people will argue that this is rubbish but I can't see any other reason for it and the picture has definitely got better and is as far as I am concerned as good as I want it to be.

The other thing that I really like about it, is the fully glazed front panel which is completely flush, hence it doesn't collect dust around the picture frame, why can't they all be like that?

So overall, I would highly recommend this set, hope you get as much enjoyment out of your as I have mine!

4 out of 5 stars Brilliant value for money   April 19, 2010

I decided to buy this plasma TV to take advantage of Sky's free HD box offer and have not been disappointed. Delivery was on time however the packaging left a lot to be desired. The TV was actually stowed upside down in the van as the bottom was falling out of the packaging. Not a good start but on unpacking, all was in order. Set up was a breeze although the manual was contained on a CD-ROM which was onlt compatible with Windows (I have a Mac and had to download the manual from the internet). It took me some time to get the perfect picture as the presets have some strange colours until they are tweaked but after a bit of experimenting I got what I wanted and have had no further problems. One great point for me is that analogue teletext comes with a tremendous setting which allows me to scroll back and forward along sub pages without having to wait for (most) to reload. If there are more than 8 sub pages there may only be immediate access to some of them but this is not a problem compared to older sets where every sub page came up in it's own good time. All in all I am more than satisfied but have taken off one star for poor packaging and the manual not being Mac compatible.
