5 out of 5 stars Excellent television   April 20, 2010
Darren Simons (Middlesex, United Kingdom)
I'm sure most people would agree that when buying a TV there's so much jargon thrown at you it's impossible to know where to start. Having spent ages reading through it I decided on this TV and looking back I feel I made the right decision - here's what I like about this TV:
- HD - this is full HD - 1080p (although ignore what the sales people tell you re Sky... Sky is 1080i)
- Plasma vs LCD - plasma's better for movies, shows the blacks that much clearer, and not as much contract on the bright colours (LCD is probably better for games)
- Pitcture quality - excellent, no broken pixels (yet!)
- Sound quality - very good, really can't complain
- Appearance - nice, simple, the newer version has a slightly different design but not much difference. Can be mounted on the wall or on a base (we've used the base)
- Connections - 3 x HDMI, 2 at the back, one on the front. The one at the front is nicely hidden under a plate so ideal for connecting to temporary devices (eg. camcorder). Lots of Scart connectors, and I think there's a digital audio link as well
- Remote control - yeah, that's fine, although the switch between Digital TV, SkyHD (via HDMI) and another HDMI input isn't that quick... irritating but not a big deal
- Viera link - if all your equipment is Panasonic this is a platform for controlling them off one remote or something

All in all really good. I think this TV is excellent.

5 out of 5 stars Simply awesome TV   March 21, 2010
Thurstan Johnston (Hampshire, England)
Had this TV for 4 or 5 months now and it is fantastic. Excellent visual quality across the board. SD TV looks great, Blu-rays looks incredible and PS3 games look stunning.

easy to use and configure, with plenty of ports and connectors at the back covering every need.

Typical plasma high quality, colours look very vibrant and the black is very strong.

Thoroughly recommended!!!!

5 out of 5 stars Loving this TV - fab!   February 22, 2009

Had this TV for about a week now. Bought it after several months of research. It seems that the top two brands for plasma are Pioneer and Panasonic, and Pioneer are a lot more expensive for not much more than what Panasonic will give you.

When I first put the TV on it automatically scanned for channels. It also wanted some details from me for security reasons, in case it was ever stolen - good idea I think.

I was slightly concerned about something another reviewer on here mentioned, the remote control. Well, I can see what he means, but in all honesty I haven't had a problem with it. How many people try changing the chanel by pointing their remote at the wall? You point at the TV anyway don't you, so no real problem there. I haven't subscribed the HD TV, but I do have a Blu Ray player (although only one Blu Ray disc right now) and the quality of that looks pretty good.

All in all, a good TV for the money, and a stunning size at 42". Very pleased with this purchase!

3 out of 5 stars Delivery fault   February 3, 2009
derek (perth scotland)
On delivery the tv would not switch on : a faulty switch which required the tv to be replaced. A minor but very basic fault Which caused weeks of hassle re the replacement tv.
